Back on the Grid: My Return to the BTCC

It feels amazing to finally say it… I’m back in the BTCC for 2025 with Team VERTU and EXCELR8! It’s been a long road to get here with plenty of ups and downs over the off-season, but I couldn’t be more excited to be rejoining one of the most competitive championships in motorsport.

There were moments over the winter when I wasn’t sure if this return would be possible. Thanks to some incredible people around me, especially Mike Caldicott, Rich Hall, and Danny Buxton, we’ve made it happen. And what a comeback it is. Teaming up with a proven title-winning squad like EXCELR8 and lining up alongside the likes of Tom Ingram, Tom Chilton and Adam Morgan is a huge opportunity. These guys are top-tier competitors, and racing alongside them is only going to push me harder and help me keep growing as a driver.

This will be my fourth full season in the BTCC. While I’ve come a long way since my Ginetta days and winning the Jack Sears Trophy, I still feel like there’s more to give and more to prove. The hunger is definitely still there, and I’ve been putting in the work to come back stronger.

We’ve got a new partnership with the Defence industry community that’s made this all possible, and the livery for the #777 is something I can’t wait to reveal. It’s going to look incredible on track at Donington Park for the season opener.

This return isn’t just about me. It’s for everyone who’s backed me through the years, from sponsors to fans and friends. Thank you for sticking with me. I’m fired up, focused, and ready to make this season count.

Let’s go racing.

Michael
